Welcome to AutoAid, a family-owned and run auto shop nestled in Van Nuys, California. Jack Bulko, affectionately known as “The Mensch with the Wrench,” founded AutoAid in 1979. Jack started the company by providing mobile car care using one truck. Driven by a dedication to quality work and customer service, Jack continued to build his business and eventually moved it into a brick-and-mortar shop. His hands-on, people-centered approach quickly earned him a loyal customer base and a solid reputation in the community.

Jack’s commitment to doing right by his customers and his strong work ethic are reflected in every aspect of AutoAid’s services. The term “mensch” is Yiddish for “a person of integrity and honor.” Jack has worn this moniker with pride, shaping his business, life, and family around these principles.

Today, Jack’s son, David, carries on his father’s legacy by managing AutoAid’s day-to-day operations. The entire AutoAid team remains committed to delivering the exceptional, trustworthy service that has defined the shop for over 40 years.
