Hydroplaning caused this accident. My wife Survived.

Hydroplaning caused this accident. My wife Survived.

Thanks to the Air Bag System in our 2007 Nissan Versa, my wife suffered minor injuries when the car Hydroplaned on the 101 near Santa Barbara during a rain storm last year. Even when driving through sitting water on the freeway with good tires and at a safe speed, hydroplaning can occur simply due to the separation and lift created by water between the tire surface and the road. Unfortunately, the car was a total loss and fortunately my wife wasn't. We loved that little car, but I love my wife more.   Take advantage of the Wet Weather offer at AutoAid which includes a free inspection of tires, brakes, wipers, lights and more to keep you safe on the road during this long overdue rainy season in Southern California

Parents: Beware of the Risk of Teen Drivers' Car Accidents During the Summer Months

Based on recent research by AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, car accidents involving teenage drivers are substantially increasing during the summer due to teen distracted driving.  They call it "100 deadliest days" - the study found that on average 1,022 people died in accidents involving teenage drivers during the 100 days after Memorial Day. 8 Things You Should Know About Tires

National Pet Month: Keep your Pet Safe While Traveling in the Car

Only 10 years ago, about 19 percent of owners were bringing their furry pals along with them on road trips. Since then, that number has more than doubled, as 37 percent of owners say they take their dog in the car with them, rather than leaving him behind when they travel. According to the 2015-2016 American Pet Products Association National Pet Owners Survey, 65% of U.S. households own a pet, which equates to 79.7 million homes. Of those, pets, 77.8 million are dogs and 85.8 million are cats, and an increasing number of these furry companions accompany their families on in the car. As part of National ... read more
